Lion's Story

The lion, also known as the "king of the jungle", is an impressive animal with a rich and interesting history. It was once present in almost all warm regions of Africa, Asia, and Europe. Lions were also present in temperate regions of Asia and Europe about 10,000 years ago. Today, they are only found in certain regions of Africa and Asia. Lions are social animals and live in groups called coalitions. The dominant males of a coalition are the only ones to mate with the females.

Lion Characteristics

The lion is recognizable by its mane, which consists of long hair around its head. Males have a more developed mane than females. Adult males weigh about 190 kg and females about 130 kg. Lions have a yellowish coat and black spots called "rosettes" on their back and sides. Lions are solitary animals that spend most of their time resting and feeding. They are active at night and during the day.
